Articles, news, bank and provider profiles, Bank Check, Vault Check and the directories are free, without an account or a subscription. Every institution in a directory is included on the basis of public information, whether or not it has any relationship with offbnk.
How offbnk is funded
offbnk earns money through affiliate and partner programmes with some of the companies listed on offbnk. If you become a customer of such a company through a partner link on offbnk or with an offbnk voucher code, offbnk may receive a commission. Some partners also offer conditions that are only available through offbnk.
Which links and conditions are paid is shown where they appear: links to providers that pay offbnk a commission carry an asterisk (*), and conditions that exist only through offbnk are labelled "Advertisement". Rankings always score a company's standard terms.
What may be added later
offbnk may add further sources of income, always within the rules below, disclosed in the Compliance section and labelled where they appear:
- Further partner links to precious-metal storage, only for pure custody of metal that belongs to the customer (including pooled custody and safe deposit boxes). Products where the customer only holds a claim against the provider, and loans or credit, are never paid links.
- Partner links to banks only from banks based in the European Economic Area. Banks outside the EEA are shown with public information only, without any payment, paid profile or paid advertising.
- Fixed annual agreements with institutions for data maintenance or an expanded profile. The fee does not depend on visitors, clicks, referrals or account openings, and institution-supplied data is identified as such.
- Advertising, labelled as advertising and kept separate from directories, filter results and rankings.
What money cannot buy
No payment and no business relationship can change whether a bank or provider is listed, which data is shown about it, Bank Check or Vault Check results, ranking points or positions, or offbnk's editorial assessment.
The ranking formula reads no commercial data at all: commercial conditions are stored separately, and an automated test checks that adding partner or commission data changes no score and no position. Every ranked provider gets the same "Provider website" button; only the label shows whether it is a partner link.
What offbnk does not do
offbnk does not sell or share visitor data, has no application, lead or callback forms, does not forward enquiries to banks or providers, and does not take part in opening an account or signing a storage agreement. A partner link tells the provider that the visit came from offbnk; it does not identify you, and offbnk does not record the click. offbnk gives no personal financial, tax, legal or investment advice.
How paid content is labelled
Conditions that exist only through offbnk carry the label "Advertisement". Links to providers that pay offbnk a commission carry an asterisk (*), explained directly above the table in which they appear. Paid advertising, if offbnk runs any, is labelled "Advertisement" with the advertiser's name.
